This is probably going to be the last stationery subscription box review for a little while now. I’ve recently had a mad craze over them that my bank account can no longer support! I wasn’t going to buy this box but when I saw the theme I just knew I had to! Read on to find out more.
About the Box
The box is produced by Under the Rowan Trees, a UK based company ran by Danielle who lives in Northumberland. She started the company, which began with her love of knitting, crochet, embroidery and stationery, in 2014 alongside her teaching career. In 2016 she left teaching and Under the Rowan Trees started to blossom.
I’m not sure exactly how long Danielle has been curating amazing stationery boxes but she has already showed her creativity for curating with loads of incredible themes! I’ll talk about these later in the post.
Price & Shipping
£15 plus postage (£1.50 in the UK, £4.75 international). You can buy 1, 3 or 6 months or sign up for a rolling subscription through Paypal! I was actually astonished at how fast the box arrived. I ordered the box on the 21st of March and it arrived on the 23rd!!! Perhaps I caught it just before the cut off point for shipping but still! For one person running a business packing boxes and shipping them out that is impressive.
Theme & Contents
It was the theme of this months box that really caught my attention: Tropical Leaves. I’m big into plants at the moment and green is probably my favourite colour (my car is lime green as is my next bullet journal). Despite having made a promise to myself not to buy any more subscription boxes I weakened and ordered it.
The box I received contained the following items:
- 2 washi tapes (TWO!) one metallic and one tropical leaves
- A box full of gorgeous tropical leaf stickers (like it was really full of stickers)
- Monstera leaf pin
- Wood monstera leaf journal charm
- 15cm wooden ruler
- Mini tropical leaf notebook (by Ohh Deer)
- Green sparkly pen (by sparkly I mean full of little green gems in the barrel)
- Tropical leaf gift tag
- 2 prints – 1 ‘April’ month print, one with tropical leaf pattern
Now lets just take a moment to consider how long that list of items is. There are TWELVE separate items in that box. You’ve got to admit that’s pretty amazing for an independent stationery box service. All of the items are really good quality as well, there was nothing in the box that I didn’t like. I was blown away by how much I loved the box, and I’ve tried a lot of them.
I don’t usually include a section on the other themes of stationery boxes but I’m making an exception here because Danielle is really great at curating amazing themes. This is a quick list of some of my favourites she’s done:
- Cactus ‘I need a hug’ box (another plant one, I do love plants)
- Mermazing – mermaid themed box
- Decadent December
Is It Worth It?
TOTALLY WORTH IT. Go buy this box. If you love quirky stationery and love themed stuff then it’s definitely the box for you. I still can’t really get over how cheap this box is compared to a lot of the others on the market. It truly does but some of the other boxes out there to shame.
My only issue at the moment is that the website is a little tricky to navigate and doesn’t always seem to load properly for me. Perhaps a little streamlining as it took me a few goes to actually get to order the box (although I did do it under my desk at work!) Aside from that it’s perfect and I think you should all go and support Danielle and her incredible stationery box.
Have you subscribed already? What do you think of the box? Let me know in the comments!
