Here we have another post focussing on one of our favourite topics: studying! Just kidding we know studying can be really hard and gruelling. Or does it? In our opinion it doesn’t have to be. In this post I’ve written all about how you can organise your study tools and notes to help you revise better. Read on to find out how to do it and some of my favourite products to help you get there.
We also have an exciting giveaway for all of you hardworking students out there so make sure to read to the end of this post to find out how you can enter to win some amazing Mustard stationery.
This post and the associated giveaway are sponsored by Mustard London.
Create a Toolkit
Creating a toolkit that you love and want to use can be a really great motivator to sit down and actually start studying. It’s the same reason I always used to buy a new pencil case every September for the new school year. It motivated me to start fresh and put the effort in. Check out my blog post on the best stationery supplies to motivate your revision where you can find my top picks for the perfect toolkit.
This can apply to both your study space and your notes. Over the course of the year you’ve probably acquired a lot of notes, paper, files etc. Chances are you won’t need a lot of it, it will become more of a distraction to your working. So take some time to look through all your subject notes and pick out what’s not important. You don’t necessarily need to throw it away, after all in a decluttering (flurry) you might throw something you eventually need, just organise it.
Condense your Notes
Similar to decluttering condensing means that you decrease the volume of your study notes. But you don’t do it all at once. Instead you have to slowly decrease the volume as you progress with your studying. You might start with a whole booklet of notes. Once you know them condense that booklet down into a few pages, then one page, then flashcards. As your knowledge increases your notes decrease, it’s that simple!
Surround yourself with Motivation
Motivation really is key with many things in life but studying is one of those things where it’s really essential. You need to know why you’re chained to your desk poring over notes and details. You need to have a goal that makes it all worth it. If you’re finding it hard to motivate yourself to sit down and write out your notes then get some inspiration from the studygram community!
Compile It All & Keep It Tidy
If you need to go to school or to the library to study then you will probably need to pack yourself lots of notes and study tools. This means you can end up with lots of bits and bobs to remember to put into your backpack. I don’t know about you but I always forget stuff so I need somewhere to stuff it all ready to grab and go.
When I was at University this place was my laptop case. It would fit my laptop, my notes and my tools. My personal pick for a laptop case that can keep all your stuff in one place is this Marble Laptop Case by Mustard. I absolutely love the design of this, it’s super vibrant which means it will be really hard to leave behind. Most of my important possessions I make sure to get in bright colours so I can find them easily and I won’t forget them. The Marble Laptop Case is also really flexible but well cushioned so it will protect your belongings. The flexibility means that there’s lots of space and you could easily fit in a decent sized pencil case full of all your study supplies. The zip on the case opens really wide that means you can find things inside it easily.
